World War Z, let’s discuss.  I have my hesitations for several reasons:

1)  It concerns me how this fantastic book can be coherently made into a movie.  Without giving too much away for those who haven’t read it (and you absolutely should!) the book is a collection of accounts from various people involved in the zombie apocalypse and their versions of how it all started, what went down, the re-build of society, etc.  Given the non-linear and the absence of one clear plot line in the book, I’m not sure how it’s going to translate.

2)  Film adaptations of books I love are always a risk.  Even if I enjoy the movie, I can’t help but remain a purist to the work in its original format.

3)  The issues and delays with this movie have been well-documented in the media, blogs and the film industry.

That being said, I am SO pumped to see this movie!  While I’m not that big on zombies, I love the book and any apocalyptic movie with that ominous score will grab my attention.  The terror!  (did I mention I’m a Sci Fi nerd?)

My overseas friends, I know it’s been out for a little over a week, did anyone see it?  Also, MUSE playing the opening?  Pure thrills.

Unfortunately, I leave for tour two days before the North American premiere (June 21), let’s hope it’s still playing in Europe.

A bracelet & pillbox I found in 10 minutes in this absolutely AMAZING antique store in Utrecht, Netherlands. Don’t remember the name, but it was about a block from the Tivoli.

SO anyway… clearly I have neglected this blog for over a year, and just when the good stuff started happening!  I promise to be more diligent, so check in often!

Maybe I should do a recap of the past year… or not…

In the meantime, check out this fan-uploaded video of the dreamy trio and my spirit animals LEGS ripping your heart out but cuddling you after.  They had this song in the Netflix show “Hemlock Grove” and it’s just one step in their eventual world takeover.

Listen to PRODcast 8 in its entirety.

Can’t get enough of this.  Quickly spawned “QUADMEAT” for a grand-slam call.  Genius, I say, genius.

Not-So-Random Start: The Isotopes, “Ballad Of Rey Ordonez”

It’s Opening Day for the Angels, so I’m listening to “the world’s greatest baseball punk band”, The Isotopes.

You should too.

Buy one (or all) of their EPs here.

Three favourite things. Riley/Productive Outs, baseball & the only, therefore the greatest, baseball-punk band, The Isotopes.
